Irving, Texas (Nov. 6, 2017) – The organization formed to plan and administer a nationwide celebration of the 150th anniversary of college football in 2019 will soon have its look.
The College Football 150th Anniversary has announced it will partner with SME, a Learfield Company, in the design of its logo and branding campaign. A creative services agency, SME will work to develop the full brand identity for the Anniversary.
“Our mission when selecting a company was to find one that could formulate a branding strategy to honor the rich heritage and promising future of college football,” noted CFB150 Executive Director Kevin Weiberg. “SME has a very good track record in sports, entertainment and higher education. It is well-positioned to assist us in meeting our goals.”
While honoring its past, the new identity will capture the nation’s passion for college football in a manner that boasts how the sport is poised for continued growth and success. The process has already begun, with the plan for the logo to be introduced in 2018.

College Football 150th Anniversary is a non-profit organization that will administer the celebration of 150 seasons of collegiate football during the 2019 campaign. The commemoration will be marked in all divisions of intercollegiate football, culminating with the College Football Playoff National Championship in January 2020. The CFB150 staff reports to a committee made up of representatives from the numerous stakeholders throughout college football and administers from the National Football Foundation & College Hall of Fame headquarters in Irving, Texas.
